Junk Kouture project

Students from the European school, art option take part in the Junk Kouture competition with their creations made from recycled materials.

Junk Kouture is a creative programme for young people. For the past 11 years, it has challenged post-primary school students to create high-end designs from waste. Integrating elements of environmental sustainability, fashion, art, design and engineering, Junk Kouture annually features aspiring designers aged 13-18 taking on the challenge of creating wearable fashion – the golden rule being that everything used must be 100% recycled. Junk Kouture is now available to over a million school children in six countries, and has recently launched in five new locations around the world: London, New York, Paris, Milan and Abu Dhabi. Junk Kouture will roll out in these territories, with the City final in Paris in May/June 2022, before the first ever global final in September 2022.
